it's all about me. deal with it.

the title is from my birthday cake. i did a rajpal on that. azrael has tagged me to write 7 random facts about myself. i have nothing else to write about, so here goes....


i am sarcastic. at least, every single person i know tells me i am. i personally prefer to think of it as my sharp wit =) sometimes i tend to go over the top and my sense of humour has got me into trouble a few times. i've learnt to tone it down a bit so that i won't step on any toes but the general opinion is that my sense of humour is sarcastic. i don't really have a problem with it though. i say what i have to say and well, deal with it.


i love reading. i've easily read over a 1000 books of all sorts, the useful, the useless, the informative, the crap, the classics - all kinds. 2 of my all time favourite series are harry potter and the anne series by lucy m. montgomery. i also love books by asian authors. for me, staying at home with a good book is also a way to enjoy life, just like going out and partying. i'm not a big party person anyway. the occasional outing with friends to dance the night away and down a few shots, yes, but every weekend - hell no!


i am an IT dunce:-\ i have no idea what words like processor and uumm..(i can't even think of any other words) means. i can just about find my way around my computer and manage my work on them but if it decides to act up, i have to call up someone else who knows more about these danmed machines than i do. since i've managed ok so far, i'm in no hurry to increase my knowledge of computers either =)

i hate dressing up on a regular basis. it's jeans, t-shirts and rubber slippers (where i can get away with them) for me. since i started jobbing, it's been upgraded a notch to shirts and kurtas. you'll never catch me in heels and make up at odel or crescat. but on and off, when i HAVE to, i like to go all the way and get all dressed up. heels (though years of rubber slippers and flats have made it difficult for me to walk in them), make up (only eye-make up, not the whole gooey-foundation stuff), the whole works. of course, getting rid of it is a bitch. i don't know how the women who put this stuff on their faces on a regular basis manage it.


i'm generally a happy person. not the "the-world-is-full-of-buttercups-and-bluebirds, ooh-la-la-i'm-happy" kind of stupidly happy, but the "the-world-is-a-pretty-screwed-up-place-but-it's-the-only-choice-we-have-so-might-as-well-enjoy-the-ride-while-we're-here" kind of happy. that has earned me the label of being a cynic. i don't call myself one, because when you do, you feel pressured to always say the cynical things.


i love sleeping =) i think sleeping should be made into an olympic sport. i can sleep for hours, anywhere, anytime. i don't need my own bed, a stationary place, a quiet place, none of those. i can sleep in moving cars, with music on. i have been blessed that way and boy, am i glad about that. but that does have the draw back of me waking up with a crick in my neck most of the time when i sleep in places that are not meant for sleeping. oh well, you can't have everything, right?


i hate migraine inducing music so that would include metal, rock and any other genre of that nature. for me, music has to be calming and soothing and occasionally, when i need it, to pump me up. i love, love, love freddie mercury and queen and most of the 80's bands like styx, journey and um...i can't remember the rest. i'm the kind of person who'll not know a song when my friends are talking about it and a week later, when i hear it on the radio i tell them "i LOVE that song" and get a "oh, you're such an idiot" look and be told "that's the song we were talking about that day."
i don't mind listening to gold fm on and off. they play my kind of music most of the time. anyway, i don't have a choice in the matter when travelling in the car with the parents because they control the radio.
